It Was Nothing
It Was Nothing It was nothing, or so I was told I can only plan on getting old There is a way to forget the past But future trials will make old memories last Yet, what if it was your first time And all you had was love on your mind? Can you just forget what should not be forgotten And can you forget the one who made you feel downtrodden? Let’s go back and see if there are things not done Has he left the bed you both lied in before the rise of the sun? Has a lesson learned penetrated the now-lonely heart’s core And made you not want what was desperately wanted anymore? Let’s try this again: I wanted something so bad and at any cost Now my life is shaken up and I don’t know who is the real boss But in the end I must say that when you’re cut off, it’s over No need in getting drunk to deal; I might as well be sober And accept the fact that I were merely a puppet on a string Realizing that in end simply…it was nothing. “Sometimes things that bring you down can be used to make you stronger…sometimes you have to take the hint and move on…it wasn’t worth it…you’re worth it.”
