Jack's Ballad
I heard he floats about London, His cape two meters long, Under, around, and through, they say He never gets it wrong. Both young and old all whores beware This man of mystery, Take heed my word, both young and old, This man brings misery. From ghosts he’s learnt to hide and prey In Shadow, not in sight, He follows them so close, he smells Their choice of drink that night. When mind and limbs ache with the chase, Another slag is slain, From trachea to scapula, He revels in the fame. From naval down his cold knife went, Stole her organs too, Do they know who does this? No, the Met have no clue. When dawn comes round he will be scarce, Won’t be there, nor hither, Leaving behind a little taste Of Jack, Jack the Ripper. Adam Al-Samarae
