Jewel
Some things last for ever, Or seem to do at least, Like sunlight setting in the west And rising in the east; The rocks that lie beneath us, Mountains, Volcanoes; The sky in omnipresence; The ocean and her flows. But our lives are much quicker, Not so long for the earth, Our time is as an arrow With a target set from birth. Yet still there lies a jewel In the space mid you and me, That sparkles in the star-lit glow Of all eternity.
