Kisses from Heaven
Through the desolate streets watches a hopeful sunrise Awaiting the strings of time to pull life into being Like a puppet who waits for his master’s command. The road is endless for the beggar who has nought But time for company and the dirt that separates His bare feet from the ground. Leaves echo their lullabies in the gentle breeze As trees, with their swaying whispers, Dishonours the silence of morning Like the mischievous child who loves to defy. Their song embraced by he who must beg To feed his blood ties. Raindrops descend from above and usher Into the quiet, softly caressing the ground Like lovers reuniting their undying love. He stands before the lonely road travelled before In search of his miracle that forever eludes him, Yet finds instead the burden of life. The sun has set, the air is still, The rain has come and gone. He weeps into the blinding darkness Praying for a rainbow weaved by the Gods, And hoping to find kisses from heaven.
