Lady in Grey

·TheNightShift

The full moon rises from the rolling mist the night birds are screeching in the glades I wander alone through the vale of dreams the apprehension creeps as daylight fades A voice is drifting on the gentle breeze a soft and haunting tune begins to play I see her walking through the hazy mist a lady I once knew, all dressed in grey She has that strange and entrancing smile her skin is pallid in the moonlight glow I whisper “It’s good to see you again I thought you died so many years ago” “Perhaps I did", her silky voice replies "but love can linger on long after death” a crystal tear is running down her cheek I can feel the icy chill from her breath The full moon rises from the rolling mist I’m drawn towards the lady dressed in grey her arms reach out to embrace my soul I knew she would come back to me one day
