Learning to Thrive
Forgive me if I don't understand Why people keep their heads in the sand They keep digging their holes deeper And grow weary, hopeless and weaker. We dwell in the old stuff, let it fester in us Then we get upset, we argue and cuss We blame society for all our afflictions And reject all forms of basic religions. If we want to succeed and make progress We should not look back and regress Keep looking forward and make things right We must help ourselves to gain some insight. We grew up in the barrio in a poor family We had to endure hardships and that's reality But we did not let obstacles defeat our dreams We held it together and never came apart at the seams. Someone said these words. Everyone wants the truth but no one wants to listen and the honest truth we refuse. We try to blame others for the mistakes we make in life Until there is no one else to blame; needless to say I must learn to thrive!
