Left Behind

·wingless

Now as the sun rises, I'm standing once again, On these forgotten shores, Last night I cried, Lost in my tears, Gripped by all, My worldly fears. Looking back, Remembering when, We were never afraid to dream, Never afraid to lose, And never afraid to be, Who we wanted to be. How we ran in fear, And searched in vain, But now our lives, All to distant, Are scattered over continents. And our deeds, And our sorrows Are blazoned across the skies. To be a mer hero, This angel fell. We pray, That our memories of today, Will get us through tomorrow… We did not exaggerate our injustice, Nor did we forget our affections, In a world so small, We felt so far apart. So I'll go, I'll leave you to your waters, In the pouring rain, While walking away, I'll try not cry, Not knowing why this has happened. And as the curtain falls, We bow so gracefully, Exiting left, Always left, Left behind… (I still love you dear vamp. I promise I always will. If you ever need a friend I'll be there.)
