~Let It In~

Flaming colors invade my eyes Oceans of leaves, with none of mankind's lies The chilled fall air bites at my throat As a peppermint on bad breath I walk sinless and innocently A boy of only five But faithful to nature's realm I near the old stream Waters dancing melody starts to fill my ears As i approach the deer fled their fortress of safety Kneeling down beside the stream The cool mud soaks into my pant legs Bolting chills up my back The small waterfall lingers over an old trees roots Glimmering of golden sapphires I exhale sending a mirage of smoke over the water Fire dances on the mirrored ripples As the wind tries to blow out the flames on the trees I dip my hand in the icy water Lean back as the refreshing liquid slides down my throat I wipe my mouth, satisfied I leave the flaming stream ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Many years and tears flow by I walk my destiny back to natures realm That I'd abandoned for so many years I enter the canopy of trees Still standing tall, by their word I near the old stream Holding back tears with a smile But yet no sweet melody invades my ears I break into dead run Sliding across a rich pool of mud A tiny line of fiery gold weaves through the onslaught of mud The glimmering waterfall of golden sapphires Had long since fallen down into the earth My tears joined sides with the tiny run of water I scooped my hand down To retrieve the last of nature's gold Once more rearing back The lions last roar The cool water rushed down my throat As thoughts of past flooded my head It was not just a stream It was a part of me A part of all of us that dies But there is still a narrow stream of hope It was my innocence My purity I listened as the call of the wind whispered in my ears All that is grand Is what you breath Is what you see around you ~~~~~~Let it in~~~~~~~ The wind whispered ~~~~~~Let it in~~~~~~~ By:Logan Seth Gregory ~The Daydreamer~
