Life of a Photon
Born of star, my life so quick In fusion-engines here I fight 'gainst gravity that careless slight Where freefall makes me sick. Journey far away from home, this center-fire and torchlight thrill of starlight fair, and darkness kill the longlived trek through hell we roam. A particle, I am, so what? Who do you think you are, Just fundamental dust and char, All lives begun inside this gut. Traveling in the mind of sun it's not unlike your own, except perhaps God won't condone when you go faster than I run.
