LIFE OF THE FOUR SEASONS
THIS POEM WAS INSPIRED BY SMOKEY, WHO CRITQUED MY TEASER DAY POEM WITH A DELIGHTFUL COMMENT ABOUT CHECKERED BLANKETS AND PICNICKS! LIFE OF THE FOUR SEASONS * Shall I compare my youth to Spring? And the innocence that it brings? Those carefree days that make us sing, of checkered blankets and picnicking. * As I have felt the stifling heat, as Summer corrupts the youth of Spring, into adolescence with it's rebellious dreams, of leaving innocence and youth behind? * Shall I compare middle age to Fall? When days become shorter and leavesstart to fall? As all ofmyposessions, so importanttoaccumulate, in time becomesirrelevant, so Iwill give them away! * ForI have felt death chasingdownmy path, inWinterwithallits unholy wrath! I've felt that wind whipping at my back, as I hurry along and I try to catch up! * WordPlaya, March 2009
