Loneliness
As I step into a room full of familiar faces I see the same cliques with their airs and graces I'm 6 foot five, ‘unmissable’ But I feel practically invisible They all look so happy, having a good time “Hey how are you?” “I’m fine…” I wish that were true I really do One day someone will converse But I just worsen the wound I nurse If so many people are extravert Surely they can see they hurt Time spent with close friends gives a short high But sure enough those feelings quickly die In my head I mutter and moan I would rather be at home alone Belonging is number three A deficiency need! Malnourished at the end of another failed day Maybe next time I’ll muster up something to say
