long time gone
Days long past and swept with time ago Are like dreams worth remembering Though I dont wait for them to sink below. No activity is too obscure to recover The promenade of her beauty, She is my one and only lover. * * * And when it happened: the dream of you Calling from a distance where I couldnt come back to But love is funny, and you'll soon see Was never what I'd imagined it to be I remember my dorm - that college abode It was here we first met, along the quiet road Oh how I knew I'd love you yet But time was short, and soon we bet That it could never take us more Than farther past New Jerseys' shore Before the sand and its depleted beach Would make our love a requited peach. I know I'm dawdling, so here's my dream It came out like a new-spun seam On a hanger where no cloth yet hung And no crease cried, so no iron sung At college where the laundry freaks Where washers break and dryer creaks I went up to the building roof And this is where my dream went Poof! (As many do, their resolution creates quite a thunder-structive constitution!) On a ledge awaiting summer break Her family sat next to the tiny lake With a helicopter to take me far away (But to your mistaken dismay, must kindly wait another day.) And I, well, I was just content with this: She came to me with moistened kiss And wrapped herself up in my arms It felt like I could heal all harms It felt like I was made of foam It felt like I was finally home.

I care not so much what I am to others as what I am to myself. Michel de Montaigne
