Longing

Longing for your presence Your breath on my skin My hand on your heart A physical ache that leaves me breathless Your existence tears the fabric of my universe Change rippling through all Is it any wonder that you have become the sun Shining your light into every crevasse of my being Listening to the forest becoming awake around me Wondering where you are What you are doing If you are thinking of me as I am thinking of you Wanting to call you, hear your voice I am standing before you Naked, I have cast away all pretence and protection I hand you my heart The key to my soul I close my eyes And picture your beautiful face Your soulful eyes The clear mountain pool in which I lose myself If you could glimpse The brilliance of your presence through my eyes You would see my love for you As precious and pure as jasmine in spring My soul aligned with yours Together we walk Fingers entwined The forest mist tendrils swirling around our feet Your presence flooding me with fire Burning away all doubt and fear You have awakened in me Feelings long forgotten Carefully hidden away Is it possible to contain Emotions of this magnitude In a vessel as imperfect as I? Your fingers touching mine I walk with you in the moonlit landscape of my dreams My hands tracing the outline of your ethereal body Waking up with the lingering taste of your kiss
