Lost

Gazing at the reflection staring back at me, is this really who I'm destined to be. The broken girl, who can't hold her own. The one who will amount to nothing, who will remain alone. Are there any remnants of the girl I once was, With a genuine smile, and a heart of gold. The one who fought back with all she had, that never let anything hold her back, with a life full of dreams, hopes and plans. Somewhere along the line the mirror blurred, She lost who she was, that girl is no more. Marred by the scars of her past, will she be able to hold on, or just slip through the glass. I suppose only time will tell, whether that lost part of me will forever cease to be, fighting a losing fight, just to try and take one step forward in life. Is it time to shatter the glass? Leave who she once was in the past. Give in to the way her life's destined to be. A life forever surrounded by cruel words and misery.
