Love Drug
My mother she warned me of smoking, Of drinking and parties and all. Of acting in haste; repenting at leisure, Of walking before I could crawl. But my mother she never did warn me, Of dangers that I have since found. When you meet a nice girl and soon fall in love, And you let your two feet leave the ground. When you spend all your time writing letters, To tell her just how much you care, When you lie in bed, just watching her sleep, With your fingers all curled in her hair. When you spend all your money on presents, And flowers and chocolate and such. And you can’t wait to see her again so that, You can tell her you love her so much. And when she is gone it destroys you, You just can’t bear to go it alone, All your days turn black; all your nights are cold, And for hours you stare at the phone. I won’t make the same error with my kids, I will warn them to stay right away. For love, like a drug, is addictive, And can take over all of your days. Ok I promise I have one coming that isn't about love, infact I have a couple I am still working on that have nothing to do with love!! hahaha, the love poems just come easier. Hope you like this one.
