Love Isn't Love

·Mental Journey

Why are we attracted To people we will never like, While our best friends Are left behind, Because we don’t know truly, What love is. Love is friendship It is wanting to see someone Because of who they are Holding a hand because it brings happiness, Without any need or want, We are attracted to those who are different Because – biologically – it is better A more diverse genome Breads a better chance of survival Chemicals in our blood drive this It is not love Only sex, procreation, It has nothing to do with love We confuse the good feeling The one that makes us want sex So we will be encouraged to procreate With love, it is not love! Love is holding long hair When someone is sick, Or laughing at your attempts To learn something new together, Love is smiling and talking About the new story you read, Or just enjoying the day With someone who makes you happy. If you choose to have children That will come, you will figure it out But you don’t need that to be in love If you can come to that conclusion Truly, for yourself, You will finally come to know Love.

Mental Journey

I am on a journey of the mind. Contemplating the universe on every scale, and doing a complete introspective exploration. I may never be a literary academic, but I share my humble thoughts in hope that they may inspire others.
