Love Lost

·Vagabond

Love Lost A glimpse across a room - The catch of an eye. The germination, And fertile seed is sown. Formless at fist, Slowly taking shape Over time, developing Into a figure yet not mature. The birth pains, The first screams. Agony soon lost to bliss As the diminutive shape is revealed It must be cared for, At first unable to stand on its own. Nurtured, fed, and doted upon As it slowly builds strength In time the change comes. Fear, comfort, pain, and bliss - All confused at times, But it is part of the development. Finally it comes into its own, At it's peak, strong, stable: Full of life and vitality, The evolution almost complete But as temporal things must, It slowly wilts. As age and experience bow its spine It sags at the end of an epoch. And as it melts away, Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, The casualty of time and life Leaves pain where once happiness lived. Love lost.
