Love Poem in Parchment Your words are sharper than snippets, yet I appreciate love they beget, behind the jharoka eyes search-- muslin dupatta pride demurs; quiet in heart love flower blooms, in garden I reach for poem’s parch, sharpened bamboo-shoot turns to pen- with blood I write eternal pain; hidden hope that once you will see, true love story encrypted plea, lovers’ paradise this garden-- cherish ever by men-women; all lovers seldom reach their goal--- lives through lives entwined heart and soul. rajkumar@kolkata 18-08-2013 Note:--Jharoka—a place through which Royal ladies used to watch songs and dance programmes without being seen by the men-folks. Dupatta:---A thin cloth used by ladies to cover their breasts from the searching eyes of men
