Magnolia
the petals dropped in the midst of making a decision, while tying a shoe lace tighter, bent down, unaware of spring's appearance they fell brown to ground without a sound while I fondled the knob of the radio to find the right frequency. they fell outside while I closed eyes in the shower, and in a restaurant, between fries and slaw, they fell. they had bloomed; while I was diagnosing my condition- I watched an ant get glued to the honey jar one rainy afternoon, they bloomed and I declared boredom. they bloomed- I forgot to. they bloomed to bless the beginning of spring- I picked a zit and overcooked my dinner thought about how behind things had been lately.
