Make-Believe

Make-Believe Spin round and round and round and round Faster and faster until you are so dizzy And your balance has been placed in the lost-and-found Distortions and perceptions have all become fuzzy Funny and fuzzy, like the clouds are not clouds But bunnies and kittens and merry old things And you stagger and stumble through the air and bowed To an imagination so vivid you actually heard it sing Then wake up from the happiness and come back to reality Come out of your drunken stupor and think of what you saw Do false dreams and drug-induced fantasies give life its validity? Sometimes we can relive one moment and take it too far My dreams have put me in a state like a drug-induced coma Make reality seem like a horrid nightmare in itself Make me want to pop a thousand-and-one pills of Soma Just to kill what is left of my health And sleepwalk until there is nowhere else left to go Or at least to the edge of the earth where there is nothing but blackness And jump from the edge of one hell into another and nobody know Or even notice that I am gone; that is the reality on the surface Where I live, but there will be no more taking drugs Good can come out of all of this though; I have a trick up my sleeve From trials come a blueprint that will give my heart a tug; I just realized that all fairy tales are simply make-believe.

My poems are a random and unclassified way of deciphering the imagination. Enjoy.
