Makings of the oceans' edge

I can hear the laughter of the leaves as the mischievous wind plays amongst them I smile because the mingling of the two form one of nature's melodies So ordinary yet so very extraordinary I leave the umbrella of the green majestic tree Leave its shelter and shade I do not need them today And I find myself barefoot on the soft grainy makings of the oceans' edge Playful ripples lap back and forth by my feet I am careful to keep them dry So I walk away from the weaving waves Away from nature, closer to man The golden grains beneath my feet tempt me to lie among them I resist..... ......But the temptation is too strong, I give in And like a blanket, the warm grains of the shore envelope me My smile grows wider as the sunshine pours gently on me Like summer rain.... Without a drop. The words thank you leave my tongue Into the blissful summer air Thank you I whisper with a smile Thank you for this Thank you because I am myself Right here and now.
