Mammon

For one thousand years the sirens call The key was lost in the bowels of my mind Trapped in this fiery prison A mammon of my own desires tortures this prison Many fallen at my feet Many died for my mammon I brought riches and beauties to my land I erected monuments to my honour Yet the seductive call of the sirens Haunts my treacherous mind In my bed my Mammon crawls to me like a seductive kiss;a needle of morphine I had all the treasures of the world Foxes crawled into my bed Those one night whores All your love is a lie Mammon came to my home Cities burned in bloodshed Many left their homes Following the road of the sirens I marched them into the sea The tide came to greet them home. Inside the Devil's cage Darkness rips through my eyes My twisted soul cannot fly on They key was lost so long ago. Scarlet tide washing the shore A ship without a anchor A soul without a home The treacherous sirens await me My mammons seduced me They made me greedy They made me wealthy Yet in the end all I got was pain Scarlet tides washing the shores Painting the colour of the world For all to lay their eyes on My beautiful paradise gone, Water fills my lungs, sirens call my name My time is coming to an end, The mammon in me won.
