Man In Red And Black

As the world dreams all nice and cozy in bed I fly my team-high above their dream-filled heads Through rain and snow and sleet and hail These trips I take must never fail. Weather slashing and tearing at myself and my team Onward we push Depending heavily upon Rudolph's high beam Always constant, never ending always and forever it would seem. And so it is I wonder at times Is it really worth it Are all of these trips really for naught Should I just pack it all in and quit These yearly rounds so heavily bought But even in that moment and with that very thought I heard my voice say… On Dasher on Dancer on Prancer and Vixen on Comet on Cupid and Donder and Blitzen fly Rudolph I yell to the guys As higher we climb Reaching upward and outward Climbing up to the stars and into the night sky. Now out from the clouds and looking down upon the earth Seeing as many lights on houses and in trees far below As many lights as there are stars in the heavens above all aglow. So sitting quietly a moment I reflect on this job And in that instant to my heart springs a thought Of every man, woman and child's sob If Santa were ever to stop If Santa were gone what would become of little Susie or baby Lucy and yes Davy or Bob. So setting my reigns firmly in hand And with a nod of my head I give the command Ho, ho boys, let's move this sled We’ve many a stop before we can feel our sweet bed.
