Mary Jane and Me
Our own parents looked down on us, the sameasones with authority I don'tsee what the problem is with Mary Jane and me We dyed our hair bright colours, newone for each day of the week Her parents don't really like me much, it's rare for us tospeak Her house move made her mother think that would be the end for us She underestimated my commitment, i spent hours travelling by bus I would have walked if i had to, suffered walking all those miles Just to spend an hour with her and see that perfect smile We made it through our school years much to our parents dismay We never took much notice of their whining anyway So what if we are different, if we choose to dye our hair Why let appearances bother you when we don't even care We are good people aren't we even though we have tattoos What if someone judged who you are before getting to know you We do play heavy music and attend gigs of our favourite bands But we are sensitive like you are, you know i even hold her hand Please judge us when you know us and not by the way we look For the world would be quite dull if we looked the same in my book
