Masks

Illusions sell high Currency measures self worth Money rules the world Are we so shallow? Bought by our own ambitions, Self-righteous and naive Does love conquer all? All people are hypocrites Bonds break easily Trapped in fantasies Destroyed walls create a cage Free are really bound Will we shed ideals Or stay enraptured in fakes? Adore false idols Make-up makes a mask It hides invisible flaws So we can't see them Lies cover our thoughts True feelings are pushed away Hide them from the day! This poem is a series of haikus strung together. I hope you liked it :)
