Meant for never

I lie in a crumpled heap atop my bed My heart aching and my head reeling with dread I think of the hateful words we shared And I wonder if you ever really cared Deep within me I know its over now I’ve got to put the past behind somehow It pains me to think of what we’ve lost Yet I shudder at how much it may have cost By not being one with you I can begin to build my world anew And for that I love you now and forever For you’ve shown me you and I were meant for never!!!
