You think I'm crazy for the way I feel Because it's been so long It's as real now as it was then That's why I write these songs Don't be fooled I am a warrior As a quitter would have quit To you it doesn't really matter Apparently I was full of shit Billfolds and photographs Things that make us feel safe Crazy pictures that your cousin left So I won't feel ashamed One step two step one step then one foot upon the floor Retrace that step until I don't think politely anymore The floor boards creak, my vision bends I have an offer to extend I'll softly scream into your ear I figure maybe you'll listen Even though you don't hear Fingers fold and eyelids drop Pause the pain, no make it stop Afternoons with cameras rung around my neck Captures something useful like this catastrophic wreck Frame them upon the wall Compared to those I feel small Always something more than me But that's the way it should always be
