Memory Lane
Where are you, Where did you go? I thought I saw you, As I traced back memories, I was sure I knew you But you wore no face, So I went deeper Into this chain of memories. Pushing through gathering mist, It only remained. This obstacle, It had to go away. I had to find your face, Because I'm certain That maybe it got lost somewhere within, I took a path down this memory lane, I avoided that mist So sure I would win, And return your face. I fell through a gap in the ground, But I don't think I landed. I grabbed onto a hanging thread.. And climbed upon another path Treading carefully, I shouldn't slip and lose my way. My memories became an old fashioned movie, In black and white I recounted scenes I must have forgotten. But I did not find that face.
