Modern America
Broken hearts, broken dreams Everywhere I turn Everything is not what it seems And people still have a lot to learn People smile all the time But that's just a disguise And bottling up their emotions Is not very wise Women manipulate men with sex Because it's what men want But not every man operates that way Which leaves the stereotypicals on a lonely hunt Teen girls go out and get pregnant Because they have nothing else to do However when it comes to raising a child They have not a single fucking clue People abuse alcohol And smoke weed every day Simply to run away from their problems There is nothing more to say As I stand here and observe I feel like I'm walking down misery lane The outrageous things that I see Drive me absolutely insane I'm a loner Of which I am ashamed I'm a social reject And I'm the one to blame I'm so lame I'm always keeping my emotions tamed Like a picture in a picture frame From killing myself I refrain Looking up above me I see nothing but clouds of rain It is happiness That I work so hard to obtain Broken hearts, broken dreams Everywhere I turn Man I swear that some people Will never learn By Glenn McCrary © 2010 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
