Moteatea
Hello readers, A moteatea is a Maori chant normally of lament for a lover. It is generally monotone/quarter tone, with male and female harmonies. This poem describes moteatea. I am searching for a replacement of the word atmosphere, yet nothing has come to me on the past week. any suggestions? Hope you enjoy. Moteatea: Wailing in a monotone chant of love and lament Her voice harsh yet it slides, gracefully flowing Afine silk clothdancing in thetempremental wind Against a back drop of earthy male harmonics The wailing is everything you love in one moment, Taking your heart with it as it rolls across the atmosphere Slowly dissipating into a beautiful moment of silence As short as it is the silence is just as touching as the song. As she wails in a continuance of that prior passion Of love for one now lost, of hope for those still here Every dry eye in her vicinity becomes wet with tears Tears of memories, of past, of things unexplained. Each person involved in this moment of magic, Has an epiphany, a revelation, a silent knowing that could never be put into words lest it lose its integrity, Because hope, is here, once more.
