Mum, If I've taken you for granted

Mum, if I’ve taken you for granted then I apologise. You are my rock; you are my life line; You help to keep me sane. Looking back now I see the truth; I caused you pain when I was young – a problem child. When I am down you pull me up; You help me stay humble when I get too proud; You guide me through the rough and tough. You comfort me; you make me smile; You dry away my tears. A young adult now, it’s clear to me How great you’ve been these past years. You cared for us, my brother and me When our dad had left our side. If I’ve taken you for granted There’s only one thing left for me to say. Sorry for all the pain I’ve caused If I’ve taken you for granted Then I apologise.
