Mum, if I’ve taken you for granted then I apologise. You are my rock; you are my life line; You help to keep me sane. Looking back now I see the truth; I caused you pain when I was young – a problem child. When I am down you pull me up; You help me stay humble when I get too proud; You guide me through the rough and tough. You comfort me; you make me smile; You dry away my tears. A young adult now, it’s clear to me How great you’ve been these past years. You cared for us, my brother and me When our dad had left our side.
