Muzak

By the way, this is free verse, humorous--I posted it quickly and forgot to put in the type of poem it is, not that it matters... Muzak Muzak, played in some stores, banks, and lobbies, takes popular music that is sometimes tolerable, sometimes even wonderful, And dilutes it and misshapes it into something akin to algae-choked, rot-stenched, stagnant water; Designed to offend no one, it severely offends and insults the selective ears of musicians-- even the very instruments forced to produce it; It turns the stomach and strains the sensibilities of art and passion and is, in short, the tortures of Hell to the true musician.
