My Ask
Oh heavenly world, Will you await my arrival? Will you stand at your gate And welcome me to your land Of rainbows, where leaves Playfully amuse the winds In tribal dance? Will you ask The rain to paint my silhouette? I have lived that moment When the sun and the moon No longer play hide-and-seek To watchful mortals. The anguish of another day’s nightmare Drips still as the jester bows His final bow to his audience. These deliberate wounds I see Of blood and life that trickle Down my hand. Oh heavenly world, Will you welcome my arrival With your symphony Carried in the wind? Or will you mock me, A prisoner yearning for release?
