My Cat

If I became your sister Imagine where we'd go Hunting and fighting other cats In sun or wind or snow You'd tell me all your secrets All the places you'd been And laugh about the humans And all the sights you'd seen You'd speak to me of memories Of what you'd seen of me You'd tell me how you'd watched me try And cry to never be You'd say "don't worry anymore "Now you're a cat like me "We'll hunt and feed and sleep a lot "And that will always be" But I am just a human And dreams are all I've made I'm not my cat; so safe and sure And I am just afraid
