My dear friend

·Villager

For my girlfriend who died of cancer last year... As you lie there in that unfamiliar bed Uncomfortable it appears to me Seems amusing in a way But what do I know,I've never been in one before All these needles that have pierced your delicate skin Are not amusing at all How painful they must be Those drips accompanying them They are the the only method of keeping you alive I have watched you from day to day As you laid there, that cancer wasting you away My heart bleeds for you friend My eyes soften with tears My dear friend, Lying in that bed How I wish that it was me instead But do not fear When death will appear You know where you are going To a place without pain, without suffering, without despair You are going Home I will see you when I get there If I get there Forgotten forever will this sorrow be Together always, you and me Home
