My Man Status

My man status is being challenged each and every day. People see me coming and start to move away. It's my childlike nature that gets in their way. I'm more than full grown and I love to laugh and play. But I'm constantly told, "a full grown man doesn't act that way. You play too much and laugh too loud. Life is serious, take your head out of that cloud. At least try some pull-ups and throw the pampers away. You'll feel much better day by day". But in my mind I'm still a child although my hair has begun to turn grey. I romp with my children - we play gleefully. They proudly tell the neighbors - "Yup, that's my dad. He's better than TV" I know my jokes are old and often not so funny. But there is more to life than things and money. Early in life I was taught to share. That is better to give than receive. With a smile of patience my wife tells me, "we'll never have much of anythingbecause you give it all away, we've nothing put aside for a rainy day". Despite these things and what I'm constantly told I know in my heart I will never grow old.
