MY MEMOIRS
MY MEMOIRS * My memory slips Like pages from a book Ripped out in places where my heart was left vacant * On some memories we dare not wish to go or share with others once privileged to know * they are dimming now like the setting sun the memories severed as our faces start to weather * a forgotten incident from a lover once treasured about a half empty glass we refused to measure * But the lies they lay In our secret caves Left there very long ago * when we were young and the tide was low but now the water has swallowed them whole * and I watch now as they drift on out to sea gone for all eternity * fare well to them we'll just let them be and I've come to terms now as I watch them sink * WordPlaya, November 2009
