My Mind

i bite my tongue to take my mind off the thought of you it don't numb the pain but just takes it to another place i'd rather feel the clenching off my teeth than the stomping of your feet in the back of my brain because it's a little quieter less violent, higher toleration level than i might be able to live a little bit instead of dying alive while i'm walking down the side--walk 'cause every concrete block i step across with you in my head it rattles my mind and i'm so persistent but impatient i can't wait a minute toget you out of my life even if the thought of you left it would save so much time than i wouldn't have to think about you every second or two 'cause the more i think about other things the less i have to worry that picture in my mind flickers quicker every time and i'm hoping the glimpse of you shortens soon to just a blink or two
