My MIrror

·Ava

She is like a looking glass Reflect back a me from the past Making me remember times that have passed The decisions I've made, the stones I've cast They say sadistic humor is not a character of fate Her passions, her voice, everything she talk The writhing of her soul caused by the boy she dates Making me remember the path I have before walk There are times I want to shake her Give her the opinions of her elder, Time I want to wake her To the path that lies ahead, the cards fate dealt her But I can’t intrude, no matter the temptation This is her time, her duration No matter her choice, or it’s culmination I have had my youth, my time of experimentation So I listen, resist the urge to open her cage I listen and smile and recall my youth that has passed To play the part of the wise sage And remeber being someone else’s looking glass She must find the keys herself Choose her own path Not listen to the sage with an information wealth A mirror from 20 years previous.. I’ve done the math I know she wouldn’t listen…. I didn’t
