My Mommy Just when I thought my life was to begin Just hours after I made my grand entrance As I cried my lungs out shouting “I am here” Did I not touch u’r heart as you saw me for the very first time Did my tears of life not mean anything to you? When you first saw me, did you not see the blessings of God? Did you not bother to thinks of all those months we bonded? When you looked into my eyes, did you not see the reflection of you Did you not see a creation of love? Mommy when you wrapped me with a blanked When you placed me in that black plastic bag what was going through your mind When you u left me in the cold open veld did you not even look back Even when I cried did you not want to hold me in your arms and take me home with you, you just kept going further and further away from me Not so long after you left mommy I felt someone tearing the plastic apart as I was starting to suffocate At first I thought I was to be saved but as I saw those sharp teeth About to take a bite of me, Mommy I was so defenseless I could not even cry hard enough for anyone to hear me The pain was too much as I was being ripped apart with no mercy by those scavengers. I could not take it anymore so I gave up I was born only to die, should I have known Maybe I would have been better prepared. I can’t blame those dogs, I can only think of you as my killer Why didn’t you leave me where someone could find me Why didn’t you give to someone who might have wanted me All is gone now and you don’t have to worry about me I am at place where I am loved and cared for. I am ok mommy I have just a few questions to ask you Do you ever think of me? Do you ever wish you had kept me? Do you ever wonder what I would have become? Did you ever love me? I never knew your reasons for not wanting me but I still love you mommy
