My Path

I’ve seen the way this path leads, I've travelled along it before, Experienced all this pain before. The scenery seems different A tree here, a river there, But the path twists and turns just as all the previous ones. Yet this is a fresh path with none of my foot prints ahead I still might be able to rescue myself, Find a diverging path leading to happier surroundings to a new ending. Yet as the days pass the distance closes tragedy draws near. And like a moth to a flame I stumble towards my doom.
