My Resolution – I Give To You

01 Jan 2016

·Mental Journey

I sat last night On this – December 31, 2015 And looked truthfully at myself, While I want to want to help the world I have held back Because I wanted to be a part of it. While I sat there With my memory beginning to fail And the stresses of being me Eroding my body well beyond its years, I thought of my ailing family In the throws of dementia And I accepted my mortality No more will I Let my selfishness Keep me from helping I resolve to give my ideas To all those who can use them Come find me, and ask nicely Show me you can, and will, Take them to fruition And they are yours. I was asked once, “Do you really want to save the world?” The answer is yes. I resolve here In this act of truthful art To let my ideas do what I could not.

Mental Journey

I am on a journey of the mind. Contemplating the universe on every scale, and doing a complete introspective exploration. I may never be a literary academic, but I share my humble thoughts in hope that they may inspire others.
