" My Say"
After the writer's retreat the poet, who I so admire- ( the one who organized it) began an online forum. And this features questions and answers commentary and critique... My own in- depth questions were of discursiveness, the rhetorical and didactic - problem areas for me, since I tend to rant on whether speaking or writing especially on society and politics. Impassioned, carried away I wonder how to reel myself in- and not lose my listeners, readers... The poet's answers were cryptic like a Buddha, philosophical, and not so much related to craft. Still, I didn't mind I will learn somehow to maintain cohesion both in my multilayered poetry as well as words spoken- to not be the fiery, gesticulating orator... I'll follow any advice though not bend my views, I'll remain outspoken, step on some toes, but still be respectful... The poet's aim is to be understood ( clarity equals a correct interpretation) -so let all hear my say.
