My tainted mind

When dawn manifests in my dreamy mind, Silent voices from within, teach me to accept What I see, to embrace the visions happy or sad, For the power to change the world is born from them. But I fail to sustain their meaning, No one but me to blame. When noon makes its impression in my troubled mind The voices tell me to simply walk the path, That truth will be realized by the experience I have gained, But I try to reason the meaning of happiness and sorrow, love and hate, from the faces I encounter, and in the end distort my own self, No one but me to blame. When dusk approaches my tired mind The voices try to ignite the essence of hope, To look at the path traveled so far , Friendship may fail, love betray But the sun will rise defying all odds, Still I will stand defeated, Staring blank at the sunset, Afraid of the impending darkness, No one but me to blame. Finally when night attacks my vulnerable mind, No voices are there to comfort me, I must face the unknown alone, My only weapon is my silent prayer, Yet, the illusion reigns As I pray for selfish intentions, And useless causes, No one but me to blame. Edited with help from Dawn.
