Nashville, A Trip rated X
Nashville, A Trip When I had turned the big five O on a trip to Nashville I did go. things are not always, what they seem like what's in the movies or on TV. Everyone there tried to be a star but most could play just 3-chord guitar, everyone had their own tip jar and all had names that were not who they are! Everyone had a normal day job, like sweepingfloors or landscaping yards. I didn't find onethat was a snob It's hard when you are asecurity guard. Then we went to Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. There's autographed pictures of stars all around. But they offered the public but one commode. The other oneruined byan M-80 I'm told. But peoplewould use it anyway and those turds floated round like boats in the bay. with toilet paper stuck to the bottom of my shoe, and it wouldn't come off, it was stuck there like glue. They had the most bars that I've ever seen, and all of them featured the stars performing. Up all night because the town never closed. An insomniac like mecould watch those stars pose, as theymopped the floorscleanand made them look new. and they cleaned up the cigarette butts, puke andbooze. And then in the morning, they servedbreakfast buffet! Serving biscuits and gravy in that very same place, As the stars got ready for another long day, of playing their day jobin reluctant charade. As theold drunk sleeps with his head on the bar, he's dreaming of the days when, he too will be a star, in Nashville! WordPlaya, Jan 2009

I enjoy writing and since rediscovering the power of poetry, it has brought me much joy! My favorite poet is Richard Brautigan, and I am a big fan of freestyle poetry, as I find it less limiting and most creative. I also like spoken word poetry. ...
