Shaking pen vomits Brian releases smoke signals, Writing a haiku. waters rage and heave charging wall of ocean soars town dims in shadow. Ground shaking stampede Beastly herds charge forward, Huge sale at Wal-Mart. Belly fur flashes Purring paw claws the shoelace, Of shoe-wearing toy. Undulating fields Flowers offer their petals, Still she loves me not. Moth bangs into light, Grasses grow to simply be, What is life’s purpose? Bonus Hunger’s piercing pain Stomach wails in agony, May I eat your kids? I should probably explain that last one. It’s based on the Irish born Jonathan Swift’s famous pamphlet “A Modest Proposal For Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Publick”. All the best -Gene
