Never Alone

These days I’m never alone No matter the time or day Whether asleep or whether awake Whether skies are blue or gray. Whether or not I notice Every moment she is there Faithful companion, little friend She goes with me everywhere. If I’m sad, she feels my pain When I'm scared she feels my fears When I’m happy, so is she Through it all she’s always here. These days I’m never alone Within me beats another heart Little life, little daughter Yes, of me she is a part. Kicks and flutters let me know I’m not alone—no, never And each one makes me feel like I’ve loved her since forever. I can’t wait to see her face Hold her hand and kiss her toes And with every passing day The impatient longing grows. But that day will soon arrive And I promise, daughter dear From your first breath, your first cry I will always be right here Even after you have grown I promise.. ...You will never be alone.
