Never Wake Me
Entities drifting in a void of reality, Seeking, pondering the meaning of it all, Testing and ever strengthening their ability, To stand and laugh as everything around them fall, Heart of ice and tongue of fire, Ethereal tears dig into cheeks of stone, Lips quiver with the taste of forgotten desire, While phantom lacerations split flesh and bone, Eclipse the sun so I can sleep, And don’t plague my thoughts while I slumber, When you think you’re in too deep, It grips your heart and drags you under, Happiness, slavery, senseless inspiration, Days now dark, nocturnal guiding light, Welcome the change, my vindication, To be blinded with the gift of sight, Devine state in the eyes of a lesser heart, Conceived in times of kings and queens, Renew the longing with each day’s start, Hunger fed by demons and by dreams.
