New Years Resolutions
Must we have the required improvement? Stupid improvements to avoid the smart, Our self-esteem boosted by acheiving a goal, A goal of reluctance not truly in heart, Families are gathering around the magic box, Oh what medicated surprise will order bring today, Bagpipes displays for the fifty-fifth year, Why oh Why must this year be this way, For gods sake people, have some class, We've spent the last decade in broken harmony, Lets have some originality, and bring a little cheer, Instead of spending our evening fixed to the TV, Let's roll out the barbeque, In mid-winter's frost, Defy our social gravity, Before happiness is lost, And we fall once again to the January weather, We succumb to the cold-hearted promise, Our New Years Resolutions all tied up with bows, Oh why oh why must this year be like this.
