Night Dwellers
I sit Wait Light plays shadow games in the name of night For those who find light in the darkness This is my home I lie Paralysed from head to toenails Remaining little more than a ghost Haunting the carpet I want To know the secret of happiness Eluding me like the butterfly some say But I believe Its like a heart beat Trying to catch up To the beat of a drum Palpitating uncontrollably Always two steps behind Is there ever any hope? Sunrise brings nothing new An old yawn And old yesterday An old and tired you And your supposed to believe that There is promise That tomorrow will come true In the night the shadows loom Frightful not for their terror But their possibility Only in the darkness can anything seem unkown Sunrise brings old news Every day I wait for the shadows to take my hands and dance with me till dawn Where they will sigh and collapse breathing themselves away with the greatest ease This glamour lights up the pitch dark Glitter brighter than any sunshine Why wait for the day? Please… Lead me astray
